First off, I love the fact that I can use my Kiwi templates and "frame" what my scrapbook layout is going to look like before I start cutting into my papers. This is a great jumping off point and it's always fun to take a picture of this step and compare it to your final scrapbook layout.
I don't know about you, but I love wood veneer embellishments and sometimes you just can't find the perfect wood embellishments to match your project. So for todays Tip Time Tuesday I created my own wood embellishments using 1/32" thin balsa wood and my Playtime templates 3, 6, & 7.
Step 2. Carefully ink the edges of your wood embellishments. If you find some of the edges are a little rough, just gently sand them by hand before inking.
Here's my final scrapbook layout using my own wood embellishments made from my Kiwi Lane templates and stamps from our friends at Technique Tuesday.
I had a blast creating this layout and I can't wait to try this tip with other templates!
Here's a quick card I created using my left over supplies.
Thanks for joining me today for Tip Time Tuesday! Can't wait to see all your custom wood embellishment using Kiwi Lane templates!
Happy Scrapping!
Leslie
Other Kiwi Lane templates I used on my layout include: Aspen Court 1A & 1B, Aspen Court 2A & 2B, Rings 2 & 3, 4x5 Photo template, 3x4 Photo template, 4 1/2 x 5 1/2 Photo Mat.
I love this page. It reminds me that I need to scrap the special moments and take that time. I love how creative you got with the templates. How did you know to arrange them like that on the page? Just so sweet how your baby stands out on the page to me! I wondered what the last page with no pictures is used?? Is it a title page? I love that button/clock in the middle of the flower. Time is ticking. I need to scrap! Thanks for the pretty layout and colors are special too!
ReplyDeleteOh cool...you made a card! Also, I LOVE the balsa wood with stamping. That is why I love the color mixed with this wood and colors on the layout. WOW! It's 3D and eye catching to baby!
