Cupcake Sophie Hidden Pocket Valentine

Hello there crafty friends!

Today I'm sharing a fun Valentine with you using Cupcake Sophie from SNSC.

I love this months adorable digi images, and Cupcake Sophie is the perfect image not just for Valentines day, but really for any special occasion. A bonus with the new February images you get a coordinating sentiment to go along with your image, how fantastic is that!

I used a policy envelope as the base of my Valentine and to hide my special valentine message. I layered a piece of pattern kraft paper from the American Crafts collection "My Love" right on top of the envelope, then layered Cupcake Sophie onto that. I created Cupcake Sophie's frame with my Kiwi Lane templates and colored Sophie with my Spectrum Noir markers. To give that extra sparkle to the cupcake Sophie is sitting on, I added some clear glitter. I just love how fun and festive glitter makes everything look!

I cut out a heart also using a template from Kiwi Lane Designs and placed it on top of the envelope flap adhering it down with a velcro dot as my closure. For my final touches I added some Prima bling and a doily.

I had so much fun creating this special valentine for that special someone! I love how sweet Cupcake Sophie looks sitting on top of the cupcake and how versatile this image is.
Be sure to stop by the SNSC shop to purchase Cupcake Sophie along with all the other adorable digi images SNSC has to offer.

Happy Scrapping!

KLD Tip Time Tuesday - "Celebrate Today" Scrapbook Layout & Card

Thanks for joining me for todays Tip Time Tuesday. I'm really excited about todays tips using 2 different templates from the Sweetheart collection.  I can't believe it's February already, the scent of chocolate is in the air and everywhere I look I see red and pink hearts. Valentines Day is just around the corner and what a perfect time to scrapbook your loved ones or make that special someone a handmade card using the Kiwi Lane templates.

A few years ago my husband and I celebrated our 15 year wedding anniversary in Hawaii. The resort we stayed at offered a luau on their property, so of course we went. This would be a first for both of us! The atmosphere was incredible, the entertainment was beyond anything we had ever seen, and the food was so delicious.

I created a two page scrapbook layout using photos from the Hawaiian luau, along with We R Memory Keepers "Crazy for You" paper collection and of course my Kiwi Lane templates.

Tip #1, using designer template Sweetheart 4T to create photo corners and decorative page corners.

To create custom photo corners of any size

To create decorative page corners follow these 2 simple steps.

I love that you can adjust your template based on how large or small you want your photo corners by just moving the template.  You can see from my finished layout what a fun look this gives your photos and I love the extra element the decorative corners add to my layout.

Tip #2, using designer template Sweetheart 3 to create small hearts.

Trace Sweetheart 3 onto your paper. Next, connect the valley's of the flower by drawing 3 straight lines. It should look like the second picture below. Lastly, cut them apart and you will get 6 small hearts.
I love how fast and easy it was to create 6 small hearts from one Kiwi Lane template! Just look how adorable they look on my layout.

After creating my layout, I had a few scraps left from this fun paper collection by We R Memory Keepers, so I created a Valentines Day card to give to my valentine! I even incorporated one of my decorative page corners using the Sweetheart 4T template.

Thanks for joining me today! I had so much fun creating todays tips! Be sure to share your February projects using today's tips over on the KLD Facebook page.  I can't wait to see them!

Happy Scrapping!

Thanks for joining me for this edition of Weekend Whimsy! I’m excited to share a fun simple mini album I created using designer templates: Tags 5 and Tags 7.

I love a good challenge and I also love to think outside the box when it comes to creating with my Kiwi Lane templates!  I love creating small interactive mini albums and Tags 5 and Tags 7 are the perfect templates for the outside and inside pages of a mini album.

A special thanks to our friends over at Authentique for their amazing Season’s “Spring” paper collection. I used 2 piece of pattern paper from this collection to create my mini album along with sticker embellishments and paper cut outs.  I just love the color combination of cream, pink, turquoise and green in this collection. It was perfect for showcasing my daughter's photo's from when she donated her hair to Locks of Love, all 17 inches of it!

Inside pages

I created a video tutorial to share with you just how I created this mini album. So what are you waiting for?  Sit back, relax and enjoy as I show you how to create this fun, simple mini album using Tags 5, Tags 7 and 2 pieces of double sided Authentique paper.
